Jane Davis and Bartholomew Turnbull

Jane Davis (1838 - 1906)  married Bartholomew Turnbull in Windsor NSW in 1862.

Together they had ten children, tragically three of them died of diphtheria in 1869. 


Bart was the son of George Turnbull and Louisa Chaseling. He was born along the river in 1836 and died at Lower Portland in 1906. He is buried in the family plot at Ebenezer. His father George (1806 to 1885) was the son of John Turnbull and Ann Warr. Bart's mother was Louisa Chaseling (1809 to 1868). Her parents were Thomas Chaseling and Margaret McMahon.

Living all their lives in the Hawkesbury, both Jane and Bart were well respected members of the community. You can read a more detailed history of their early years here.

2. Selina (1865 - 1869)
3. Frederick Wallis (1867 - 1869)
4. Albert Edward (1868 - 1881) Inquest into Albert's death.
5. Eva Jane (1870 -1952)
6. Eleanor Louisa (1872 -1942)
7. Thomas Augustus (1874 -1958) married Mary J Walker in 1894.
8. Wilfred Ernest (1876 - 1960) married Pearlie Herps in 1905
9. Edna Ann (1878 - 187?)
10. Raymond John (1880 - 1958) married Lillian Sharp in 1906.
